- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪My father and I went to Dr. Luu Bao to discuss my father's pulmonary function because he has ALS and was concerned about his breathing. Dr. Bao was insensitive and ignorant. He told my father to quickly complete a DNR because he doesn't want to get "locked in" while he is on a ventilator, without the ability to communicate with his family. His comment also showed his lack of knowledge about technology because my father is prepared to use the eye gaze technology and he's recorded his voice for a "voice banking" technology. Look for a pulmonologist with compassion and up-to-date knowledge and awareness about the latest assistive technology.May 20, 2017by Gena Britt
